Profile Manager

Profile Manager lets you configure multiple user profiles and
switch between them Switching between profiles is simple,
just double-click on the desired profile, or highlighting
the desired profile and clicking “Load”. Each profile can be
configured to have different desktop settings (resolution,
wallpaper, user, icon position, etc). You can back-up your
profiles. The back-up copy contains all desktops and their
respective settings, including icons, icon position, display
resolution, wallpapers, password protection, users,
shell settings.

Opening the Profiles Menu:

  1. Right-click on Multi User Desktop 2004 icon in
    the system tray on the original Windows desktop.
  2. Click on “Profiles”.
    or
    1. Go to “START”, then Programs (or All Programs in
    Windows XP), point to Multi User Desktop 2004 and
    click on “Multi User Desktop 2004 Profiles” short cut.

Creating New Profiles:

  1. Right-click on Multi User Desktop 2004 icon in
    the system tray on the original Windows desktop.
  2. Click on “Profiles”.
  3. Click the “New” button and enter Profile name.
Click OK to exit.

    the system tray on the original Windows desktop.
  2. Click on “Profiles”.
  3. Highlight the desired profile and click “Load” or
    double click on the profile.
Click OK to exit.

Renaming Profiles:

  1. Right-click on Multi User Desktop 2004 icon in
    the system tray on the original Windows desktop.
  2. Click on “Profiles”
  3. Highlight the desired profile and click on “Rename”.
  4. Enter the new name for that profile.
Click OK to exit.

Deleting Profiles:

  1. Right-click on Multi User Desktop 2004 icon in
    the system tray on the original Windows desktop.
  2. Click on “Profiles”.
  3. Highlight the desired profile and click on “Delete”
    (Warning: deleting a profile will delete all settings
    associated with that profile).
Click OK to exit.

Backing-up Profiles:

  1. Right-click on Multi User Desktop 2004 icon in
    the system tray on the original Windows desktop.
  2. Click on “Profiles”.
  3. Click on “Backup” and select the location for the backup file
    (all settings for all profiles will be saved and backed-up;
    size of the backup file will depend on the size of files
    placed on all desktops).
Click OK to exit.

Restoring Profiles:

  1. Right-click on Multi User Desktop 2004 icon in
    the system tray on the original Windows desktop.
  2. Click on “Profiles”.
  3. Click on “Restore” and select the location of the backup file
    (all settings for all profiles will be restored from the back-up
    file; space taken by the new desktops will depend on
    the size of backed-up desktops).
Click OK to exit.

Installing Multi User Desktop 2004:
  1. Insert the MUD2004 installation CD or Run downloaded file.
  2. Follow the onscreen instruction through the setup process.
  3. Select “Trail” version if you want to try it before purchasing or
    select “Install” option if you've purchased MUD2004 and
    have registration credentials ready.
Enter the registration credentials if you selected the “Install” Option.
It is very important to enter User Name and Serial number exactly
as they appear on the sticker on the CD or in the receipt email.
Follow the onscreen instructions to finish the setup process.

Repairing Multi User Desktop 2004:
Follow these steps to properly uninstall this program:
  1. Go to Windows Control Panel and click on
    the Add/Remove Programs.
  2. Highlight Multi User Desktop 2004 and click on
    the Remove/Change button.
  3. Select the “Repair” option and click the “Next” button.
Click the “Finish” button to finish repairing Multi User Desktop 2004.

Uninstalling Multi User Desktop 2004
Follow these steps to properly uninstall this program:
  1. Go to Windows Control Panel and click on
    the Add/Remove Programs.
  2. Highlight Multi User Desktop 2004 and click on
    the Remove/Change button.
  3. Select “Automatic” or “Custom” option and click
    the “Next” button.
Follow the onscreen instructions.
a. Uninstalling does the following things:
It removes Multi User Desktop 2004.
It removes the shortcut from the Programs-folder.
It removes program settings from system registry.
It removes program from installed applications.
It deletes only files created by the program.
It removes the program folder.

b. Uninstalling does not:
It does not delete any file or folders not created by this program.
It does not delete desktop folders.
By default they are stored in:

C:\Documents and Settings\\%USERNAME%\
Application Data\Gamers Tower\
Multi User Desktop 2004\”Desktop Name”\


Before Uninstalling Multi User Desktop 2004 we recommend
that you review the content of these folders to avoid losing
any data and/or create a profile back-up.
